The Reception
The second most important consideration for any wedding after organising the dress and the church/registry office, is the reception or wedding breakfast. As with the bridal wear the choices are varied but most couples have to stick to a certain financial budget to accommodate the guests. Here is a site that specialises in loans
Firstly there are decisions to be made as to how many people will be invited to the wedding reception. It is quite common that a couple will invite close family and friends to the wedding service and reception, and hold an evening event for the rest of the family and friends to join in on the celebrations. Once it has been decided how many people need to be catered for, then a venue can be chosen. How far the venue is from the church/registry office needs to be thought about, as people will have to arrange transport. There are also venues that can provide a civil wedding service and the reception so the wedding party does not need to change venue. Special arrangements such as wheel chair access may need to be available if one of the wedding party has a special requirement.
Venues that cater for weddings will have various options that you can choose from whether it be a light buffet or a full six course wedding breakfast. Welcome drinks for the wedding party and drinks with the food can also be added to the wedding package. Many venues will offer wedding catering packages which will cover the whole day from greeting drinks, to the full wedding breakfast, to the champagne to toast the married couple with the cutting of the cake. There is of course the option of having outside caterers provide the food for a wedding reception in a marquee for instance, the choices are endless.
Often at wedding receptions the theme and colour of the wedding is followed with the room decorations to the table decorations and flowers. Wedding stationery suppliers who will be involved in the production of the invitations can also provide a full service for printed serviettes, place cards for the tables, favours boxes for the guests, printed balloons and banners and any other reception requirement. There are many companies that specialise in coordinating all of the decorations.
Often at a wedding there seems to be too much to organise and handle alone. If the couple are going to be spending a lot of money on the wedding day and want a stress free six months to a year before hand, it is common that a wedding planner is employed to make sure that everything is arranged and organised.
